Software Developer (Client & Server)

Job Description

Miniclip is looking for a Software Developer to hire in our Lisbon (Portugal) Games Development Studio for a hybrid regimen. This is a full-time, permanent position.

This is an exciting opportunity for a software developer to integrate into an agile, highly effective and skilled team. You will be developing and maintaining the frontend and backend systems for our cutting edge mobile games played daily by millions of users

What will you be doing at Miniclip?

Your work will include:

• Developing games for different mobile platforms and extending existing ones with new functionalities
• Developing, maintaining, and operating mobile multiplayer game backend applications and services
• Developing and maintaining the in-house tools that are used to support game development
• Building our platforms, systems, and networking infrastructure with security and at-scale mindsets
• Delivering high-quality software with your main focus on the product
• Contributing to a highly performant team to create great software within an Agile environment in a timely manner
• Continuously learning and challenging your own skillset

The ideal candidate must present the following:

• Passion for creating software (frontend and backend)
• More than 2 years of professional software development experience
• Solid knowledge of software development using any frontend or backend programming language such as C, C++, Golang, Java, Erlang, Elixir
• Good understanding of software design and good software development practices
• Knowledge of Client/Server paradigms
• Experience with Linux operating system
• Curiosity towards continuously learning new skills, trying out new approaches, and strive to enhance the quality of products and code
• Openness for Agile product development process serving short release cycles
• Good team player showing ownership, accountability, and commitment
• Good communication in English

The following skills are desirable but not essential (if you have them, don’t forget to mention them):

• Professional experience in mobile
• Experience in developing multiplayer games
• Knowledge of the TCP/IP stack
• Knowledge or experience with public cloud computing providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
• Knowledge or experience with CI/CD pipelines
