Job Description
Miniclip is looking for a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer with a strong background in development and expertise in AWS governance and networking. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS Landing Zone, AWS Cloud WAN, and Account Factory, and a thorough understanding of cloud infrastructure management. This role will be crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud environment, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and efficient. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in AWS cost optimization and the ability to propose Reserved Instances (RIs) for cost savings, and implementation of Cloud networking solutions.
What will you be doing at Miniclip?
Design and Implementation:
- Design and implement AWS cloud infrastructure solutions based on best practices.
- Develop and manage AWS Landing Zones to ensure a secure and scalable multi-account environment.
- Implement and manage AWS Cloud WAN to ensure efficient and reliable wide-area networking.
- Implement and manage AWS Account Factory to automate account creation and governance.
Development and Automation:
- Write and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations and deployment processes.
Governance and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce cloud governance policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and industry best practices.
- Monitor cloud environments for compliance with governance policies.
Cost Optimization:
- Monitor and analyze AWS usage and spending patterns.
- Propose and implement cost-saving measures, including the use of Reserved Instances (RIs).
- Develop and present cost optimization reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
Networking:
- Design and manage Cloud Network Topologies (VPCs, intra and inter connectivity).
- Implement and manage VPN connections, AWS Cloud WAN, and other networking components.
- Configure and manage WAN routing protocols, such as BGP, to ensure efficient and reliable network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot network-related issues and optimize network performance.
Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure cloud solutions align with business requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior cloud engineers.
- Support and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and incidents.
What are we looking for?
Academic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS.
- Proven experience in development and automation using languages such as Python or Go.
- Extensive experience with AWS services including AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, AWS Budgets.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Landing Zone, AWS Cloud WAN, and Account Factory for Terraform.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts and experience with AWS networking services.
- Experience in WAN routing protocols such as BGP.
- Experience in AWS cost optimization, including the analysis and proposal of Reserved Instances (RIs).
Skills and competences
- Proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices and frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty is a plus.
